Parents' co-operative responsibilities include assisting in the classroom, planning special events and parties, and occasional cleaning duties. Parents assist in the maintenance of the school facilities. Each family serves on a committee or the Board of Directors. Nannies or guardians are not allowed to co-op.

Regular Co-op

Parents co-op three times in six weeks (for the two and three day/week classes, such as the 2x2 or 3x3 classes) or four to five times in six weeks (for the five day/week classes, such as the 5x3 or the 5x4). Parents also serve as an emergency substitute on a rotating basis (approximately three days in six weeks).

Limited Co-op

Parents may apply to co-op a maximum of only twice in six weeks in the three and five day/week classes. The limited co-op is not available for the two day/week class (2x2). There is a higher tuition for this option so that a designated aide can fill the parent's participation requirement. BNS reserves the right to limit the number of parents under this option.

Parents who choose the limited co-op never serve as a substitute.

All other parent obligations remain the same.
